Happy Thanksgiving!

We are re-releasing the Power of Giving October 14, 2009 in the spirit of Thanksgiving. In that same spirit we, myself and Azim Jamal, will be giving all proceeds to the Tides Foundation. The new version includes a special afterward comment about the recession, the current need for giving and how we can all survive this setback together.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Fearless Giving

In the past, I would bury things that made me fearful. Of late, I have begun to confront them by going deeper and learning more about them.

What I have discovered in the process is that what I am fearful about is really not a big issue at all. I have made it a big deal by fabricating the issue in my mind.

Knowing more about your fear helps you overcome it. Why? Because you realize that your fear is an illusion!

When you are less fearless, you will tend to give more.

In the upcoming weeks- be fearless and give freely! Happy giving!

The Spirit of Gratitude

Giving thanks has never felt so valuable. In losing so much over the past year and a half, in dealing with so much stress, it is a perfect time to give; to show the ones we love that through the tough times we will always have the very thing that matters most: each other.

I am reminded of a story I posted a few weeks ago, one that still carries a great deal of significance for me in my daily life. It is a story that gives me balance when events around me start to feel overwhelming:

A lot to be thankful for!

The state of the economy is making life more stressful for everyone, to say the least! Of course we’re all worried about our jobs, our financial futures, and those of our families and friends. In times like these the issue that is most pressing for our anxiety is the outward gaze. Our attention is being drawn to the bad things happening out there. Interconnectedness allows us to be confronted with those difficulties that lie ahead and those through which we are currently wading.
